A Guide to Acts of Kindness
As Christopher McCandless said, “happiness is only real when shared.” This guide talks about acts of kindness and the impact acts of kindness have on your mental health as well as the mental health of others!
ACTS OF KINDNESS AND MENTAL HEALTH
Acts of kindness can be small and simple acts that have a large impact on your mental health. Studies show that an act of kindness can reduce our own stress, improve wellbeing, and help up live longer. Additionally, acts of kindness often bring us together with others, creating a sense of belonging and reducing isolation for ourselves and for others. When someone completes an act of kindness for us, it can make us feel grateful and compassionate and lift our spirits. The same goes when we do acts of kindness for others, opening our eyes to situations people are facing and creating empathy.

SHOWING SUPPORT
Many people struggle and we don’t even realize it. Acts of kindness help us show support to someone struggling without overstepping boundaries, and these simple ways don’t take up much time to do! Something as small as listening more than talking makes a person feel heard, understood, and supported. This in itself can boost moods and assist those facing difficulties.
