Our mission
After seeing our seemingly happy friends and peers become depressed, self harm, or even die by suicide due to mental illness, we knew we needed to take action. On behalf of those we have lost and those still struggling, we founded M.I.A.S.P. and we are committed to bringing awareness to our peers regarding mental illness and suicide prevention. M.I.A.S.P. strives to find a path that allows honesty, openness, and awareness to expose and destroy the stigma of mental illness in the community we all live in.
We are young adults. Who better to talk to, connect with, and educate our peers than us? We understand the stresses of the generation we are in. We are growing up in a tense political landscape, a unique economy, and with an instantaneous connection to the internet and social media. We know better than anyone how hard it can be and how it affects mental health. Our peers and their families need more education on the warning signs and support systems for mental illness and suicide. It is our mission to get it to them and to raise as much as we can toward our cause.
