2022 Eddie Chambers Scholarship Program is Live!
2022 Eddie Chambers Scholarship Program
We are so excited to share that our 2022 scholarship program is live today, February 1st! This scholarship is in honor of a Manchester West High School student Eddie Chambers, who tragically took his life in 2016. In his name, we, 5 students of the Manchester School District, created Mental Illness Awareness and Suicide Prevention, a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading awareness and fighting the stigma surrounding mental illness in New Hampshire. This scholarship was created to aid students in New Hampshire interested in following our mission who are receiving a post-secondary education. Our team at MIASP feels an interest in community service and social work/psychiatry/behavioral science is incredibly important to encourage in students in order to make a change in the mental health world and would like to offer a $1,500 scholarship to students who show exceptional passion for community service and who express deep interest in studying social work/psychiatry/behavioral science in post-secondary education.
There will be a scholarship available to both college students in New Hampshire, and high school students in New Hampshire. Each scholarship winner will be awarded $1,500 to be used for any school related items. To apply, visit miasp.org/forms-and-paperwork. All applications are due June 1, 2022!
